HOMECOMING WEEK: Join the fun!

News Blog Category - News MHS Homecoming Week is almost here! It's time to show your school spirit, your Giant Pride. 

There are also many events open to the community. (Those are denoted in purple.)

Here's a look at the activities planned at Marion High School:

Monday, Sept. 25
  • Dress-up theme: Class Color Day
Tuesday, Sept. 26
  • Dress-up theme: Twin Day
  • Boys soccer hosts Yorktown: 5:30 p.m. at Dick Lootens Stadium
  • Volleyball hosts Arsenal Tech: 6 p.m. at Bill Green Arena
  • Fall Celebration Concert: MHS jazz and concert bands join with the Mississinewa Valley Band for a special free concert, 7:30 p.m. at MHS's Walton Center
Wednesday, Sept. 27
  • Dress-up theme: Character Day
  • Boys soccer hosts Ft. Wayne South Side: 5:30 p.m. at Dick Lootens Stadium
Thursday, Sept. 28
  • Dress-up theme: Sports Jersey Day
Friday, Sept. 29
  • Dress-up theme: Purple and gold!
  • Powderpuff Football game / pep rally: Friday afternoon, Dick Lootens Stadium. 
  • MHS music boosters Rock's Tenderloin Fry: All you can eat, 5 to 9 p.m. Carryout available. Click here for more information, including prices.
  • Grand opening - MHS Athletic Hall of Fame: Come check out the new displays inside Bill Green Arena honoring our outstanding athletes throughout the decades. 
  • Homecoming football game: Giants host Muncie Central, 7 p.m. at Dick Lootens Stadium 
  • MHS Hall of Distinction 2017 inductees recognized after the first quarter of the football game at Dick Lootens Stadium. Click here to learn more about the inductees.
  • Marching Giants perform at halftime. The county's only competitive marching band will perform their 2017 competition show, "Changing A Nation".
Saturday, Sept. 30
  • MHS Hall of Distinction Induction Banquet: 5 p.m., IWU's Henry West Banquet Room in Barnes Student Center; Reservations required by Sept. 15. Click here for more information.
Sunday, Oct. 1
  • MHS Drama Association Presents: 1 Night / 1 Dollar / 1 Act: Two shorts will be presented,"Gray Area" by Ian McWethy and "Frosh in the Pit" by Alan Haehnel. Both deal with real problems of the 21st Century in light-hearted ways, but with serious undertones. For an investment of only $1 and less than one hour of time, audience members can be entertained while supporting the first MHS Drama Association show of the 2017-2018 school year. 5:30 p.m. at MHS's Walton Center.
